Happy Birthday McKinley!!

Hello everyone!

Today is the little man's birthday!!  I can't believe he is 12...
Such a happy lil pup  ;)

to celebrate, we went on a little walk to our backyard park/forest/hills  =)

man... I just can't get over how beautiful our neighborhood is.  Though I love living in Boston, I just have such a sweet spot in my heart for the Pacific North West, and I hope to live here at some point when I'm all grown up   haha  ;)

Everyone thinks it rains all the time in Seattle, but that's not actually true.  I mean, yes, it rains quite a bit, but no more than it snows in other places in the winter.  It is, however, rare to see a sunny day in the winter, so it was nice to have that for our outing  =)

Though he is 12, he could still outrun most other puppies  ;)

the one nice thing about him aging is that he is a lot better trained now  haha  well, I'm not really sure that it's being better trained as much as him getting mellowed out, but either way, he's much more manageable  ;)  If you would have known him when he was an actual pup...  man, he was a piece of work...  haha

hehe with my parents.  so cute  =)

my bebe!!  he'll always be my lil man  =)

It was such a fun outing, and I hope we get to do some more while I'm here!
Happy birthday lil man, we love you, and we hope you live for many many many years to come!  =)
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Another game night!

Hello everyone!

Yes, yes, we have game nights all the time (like here and here), and yes, I am blogging yet another one.  haha  If you haven't tried game nights with a couple of your closest friends (and add the four legged friends too if you are so inclined) you are totally missing out!  so grab a couple of your favorite games, people, and animals, food and block off a couple of hours to hang out.  It's as easy as that!

For our game night, we picked our favorite double date couple, a couple of poochies, multiple games, and some pizza, and we were set!

Here is David with pup #1, Pucci.  We were dogsitting her for the weekend, and she is such a delight! we can't wait to get a pup of our own!

pup #2, our favorite/the most regular four legged addition, Houdini, nicknamed 'jammies'

and Amulet getting really into the game with the help of pup #3, Odi!

And some deliciously greasy pizza!  mmmmhmm.  We usually try to eat healthy, but a little bit of grease once in awhile never hurts, and this was just so good!

We started off with a quick little game called For Sale, which was so quick I didn't really get a chance to snap many photos other than this one of Odi and David  haha

Then we moved onto our favorite game of the night!
Have you heard of Dixit? It's kind of like Pictionary and Apples to Apples got together and had a baby.. and it is so much fun!!

and the illustrations on the cards are really wonderful too.

So the gist of the game is that you pick a card and a saying that goes along with it, and the others choose a card from their hand that they think matches what you said.  Then, you lay it all down on the table and the other players try to guess which one was yours.  The tricky part is that you don't want to be too vague that no one guesses it (because then you don't get any points) but you also don't want to be too obvious because then everyone will guess yours and again, you won't get any points.  It's quite tricky to walk the line between the two, and the scientists in the group (the boys) had the hardest time coming up with a not too obvious description of the card  haha.
Pictures below shows our last round, and we're dying because David, the obvious-king of the night put, down his last card, and without him even having to say anything, we all correctly guessed which one was his!    XD

The last game we played was Munchkin, and while it was fun, I think we were a bit too tired to be playing the game.. It has a pretty steep learning curve at first, but it would be fun to play it again =)

super focused David  =p

Overall, it was such a fun night with wonderful company (both the 2 legged and the 4 legged kind), and we can't wait to do it again soon!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Houston! and puppy therapy! =)

Hello everyone!

I've been in Houston for a couple of days now getting ready to start another school year, and it's been quite an adjustment!  haha   what is this? I have to cook for myself? 100 degree weather with 100% humidity is normal...?  I'm back in Houston, but where's my man? (not back yet, wah wah) and where's my puppy therapy?

I have to say, the last one has been quite difficult  =/  I miss my McKinley man!  but thankfully, I've got friends with bene... uh I mean, puppies, so we're all set!  =p  In case you are also in a puppy funk like I am, here are some photos to drool over until you get your own/return to your own cuddlebug back home!

There is, of course, the infamous Houdini!  Chris's Italian Greyhound!  always such a charmer, this one!
cuddling with Emily  =)

and then he came over to cuddle with us!
And then, there was a new kid on the block, Maeby.  Jen's new puppy.  OHH MYYY GGOOSSHH!  I die.   Isn't she just a doll?!   They think she's about 4 months old, and she is such a sweetheart!

Playing with Houdini  =)

I was in such a puppy high after hanging out with Maeby!  Afterwards, I mentioned getting a puppy to David, and he said something along the lines of "I can only handle one monster at a time right now  =p" wwhhaatt! who's he calling a little monster?!  *grumble grumble*  haha  just you wait until you come back to Houston, dear!  =p

After running around the apartment a little bit, the little lady got tired, and fell asleep in my arms!!  AAAHHHHHHHHH    just could not get any cuter  XD

I hope this satisfied your puppy craving for the day!  =)
Happy Thursday!

Crazy Days Sale in Bozeman!

Hello everyone!

It's been sooo crazy around here as we got ready to perform our monster of a program.  Our program included the Beethoven 'Ghost' Piano Trio, the Ravel Piano Trio, and the Shostakovich Piano Trio #2.  It was so tiring, but incredibly rewarding.

This is how we looked after our performance  haha

Anyway, we are so glad that we got to share the experience with one another and also with the Bozeman community that came out to hear us perform  =)

Though most of our days were filled with rehearsing and getting ready for the concert, we did manage to fit in some fun things here and there, like checking out the 'Crazy Days Sale' right here in Bozeman downtown with Heather and Karissa!
The 'Crazy Days Sale' is exactly what it sounds like!  Crazy days of epic sales!  everything was about 50% off, and all of the stores had brought out their stuff to the sidewalk!  Can we say 'shopaholic's heaven' much? Except of course that it was much cooler than that because it's Bozeman.  so everything is just that much more 'hip' and 'cool'.  haha  can you tell that I absolutely love this place?

Anyway, enough chit chat =)  Here are some photos from the day!
Starting off with this funky bike.

And this really cool antiques store..

I really, really wanted the quill pen pictured below.  It really spoke to the inner romantic in me I think  haha

And it had these awesome handmade chairs sitting out on the sidewalk!   I'm such a sucker for real hardwood chairs, especially if they are handmade and has character. like these guys.

Since they had exactly 5, we had to sit on them as a group and take a photo  ahaha

like I said,,,  crazy sales happening..

More knick knacks..  we thought the frame with the Asian models was pretty hilarious since we felt like the 5 of us represented the majority of the Asian population of Bozeman right there on the sidewalk.

And then we met this awesome lady from Chile who invited us to go salsa dancing!  Here's Tim teaching Abers how to move her hips  haha

Giant bubbles.  who can resist?

And finally, perhaps the REAL reason I love Bozeman so much...
So many adorable pups running around!  I mean look at them!  don't they just melt your heart?

Sigh...  so adorable...
So I leave you with these cuddlies!  Hope you have a fantastic rest of the week!
