Cannon Beach & Ecola Park...

Hello everyone,

If you are ever in the Northwest, do please go visit Cannon Beach.  And while you're there, go take a hike around Ecola Park.  You won't be disappointed, I promise you.  I mean, just look at this beauty!!

Though I have to say, please be careful if you plan on hiking in Ecola Park after a rain, because the trails do get quite muddy, and can be very slippery. My mom actually fell and ended up fracturing her ankle, but she's doing really well now... and though we laugh about how she was treated like a queen as 911 came to carry her out of the trail, it was really unfortunate that it had to happen, and we wouldn't wish that upon anyone,,

Anyway, despite the injury (before the injury), we were still able to enjoy and marvel at the gorgeousness of the area, so here are some photos that we took (with my iPhone) on our camping trip last weekend!

Oh, well this isn't beautiful, but we had to document what our van looked like as we left for the trip.  Our trunk was full, we took out the middle seats of the van and filled it to the brim with blankets, foods, tents, air mattresses, and everything else imaginable.  My friend Michael was helping us load the van, and asked if we were moving!  haha.  What can we say,,, we definitely did not starve or freeze to death on this trip!

When we got to the campsite around midnight, we were greeted by our cabin looking all warm and inviting!  and fittingly, it was named 'Midnight'!  How perfect!

Because we had driven through dinner time, we made some Korean ramen noodles to enjoy by lamp light, and devoured it standing around the picnic table.  There's nothing more satisfying than a hot bowl of ramen noodles on a cold night while camping!!  I know, I know, it's terrible for us, but you just gotta have some ramen when you're camping Korean style!  I promise we had healthier foods too, and I'll post about them later along with a super simple, but extremely satisfying campfire recipe!  ;)

When we woke up, we were greeted by this little guy, who stayed around our cabin all day!  so cute!  Cousin Narae tried to set a trap for him, but,,, you know,, he probably laughed at the trap and hopped on away  lol

After a filling breakfast, it was time to go explore the Ecola Park and the Cannon Beach!

Oh Cannon Beach... You are so gorgeous!

Then, we went on the hike that turned out to be gorgeous, but treacherous...
But the beginning was good!  Into the green wonderland we go...

you know what they say, "It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt..."

We discovered the Mother Tree!!  so ancient!!
Where does it end..?

View about halfway into the hike.

Then, we decided to catch the sunset on the Cannon Beach and visit the 'Haystack'.  It was so beautiful there that we went a little snap happy--I think we had over 200 photos?! haha

There's the Haystack!!
and of course, the jumping sequence =)

and with my man <3

and Narae and I ran around together like we were little kids again, chasing the waves and getting chased back  =)

While David chose to leap instead haha  look at him go!

And Narae drew this for us in the sand, so of course we had to take a picture with it  =p

Cannon Beach, we miss you already.  Thank you for such amazing memories!
Thank you everyone for stopping by!
